3x3 Basketball European Championships: a drink for every ticket holder, one platform for everything
Three days of basketball at the Groenplaats in Antwerp, 57,500 visitors, and a few complimentary drinks for every ticket holder. Golazo needed a system that works quickly at the bar but is smart enough to handle vouchers, deposits, and refunds. With Beyond Ordering, everything came together in one platform.

The challenge: a gift that shouldn't create extra work
Golazo wanted to give every ticket holder credit for a few drinks at the bar. A nice gesture. But counting paper coupons, handing out tokens, or keeping lists at the bar? That takes time during the busiest moments. And afterwards, no one knows how much was actually used. At the same time, the system had to remain simple for the staff behind the bar. Fast checkout, with the intelligence for deposits, refunds, and credits behind the scenes. And the catering partner wanted to track their own sales without waiting for a report after the event.
Three questions were central:
- How do you digitally provide every ticket holder with credit that works immediately at the bar?
- How do you bring card, cash, and free credits together in one overview?
- How do you track live how many vouchers are actually being used?
The approach
Drink vouchers via the e-ticket
Based on the ticketing data, we created a QR voucher for every buyer, with the combined value of all their tickets. This was included with the e-ticket in their inbox, even before the event. At the bar, the staff member scans the QR code and the credit is deducted immediately. No receipts, no discussion.
Physical QR vouchers at the box office
Anyone who bought their ticket on-site received a physical QR voucher at the box office. The same operation at the bar, the same overview in the platform.
Card, cash, and credit on the same device
At the 14 all-in-one terminals, visitors paid with a bank card or smartphone. Those who preferred to pay with cash went to a central cash register and received a cash card. This kept cash away from the bar. Every sale, whether by card, cash card, or voucher, ended up in the same platform.
Deposits and refunds without the hassle
The deposit was integrated into the system. Visitors requested the remaining balance on their cash card back via QR Refund, without having to queue at a register.
A dedicated dashboard for the catering partner
The catering partner received a link to their own dashboard. There, they tracked the sales of their food truck live and adjusted their efficiency and stock accordingly. Transparent for both parties, with no need for Excel sheets afterwards.
Getting started together
During the setup, our team was on-site to assist. This ensured that the bar staff worked smoothly from the very first order.
The result: smooth at the bar, clear in the platform
The system ran flawlessly and smoothly, for both bar staff and visitors. Golazo had one central overview of all sales, whether paid by card, cash card, or voucher, and could see in real-time how many vouchers were being redeemed. Meanwhile, the catering partner was able to track their own figures simultaneously.
What you can take away for your event
- Want to offer visitors or sponsors something extra? Link credits to your ticketing and send them as a QR voucher with the e-ticket. No paper coupons, just a complete overview.
- Keep cash away from the bar with a single central cash point and cash cards.
- Share figures with your partners via a dedicated dashboard. Transparency builds trust.

FAQ
How do you distribute drink vouchers via a QR code by email?
You create a credit per ticket buyer in the platform, based on your ticketing data. Each buyer receives a QR voucher in their inbox along with their e-ticket. At the bar, the staff member scans the code, and the credit is deducted immediately.
How do you create credits in a POS system?
In the management platform, you create vouchers with a fixed value. You distribute them digitally via email or as a physical QR voucher. You can see in real-time how many have been redeemed and where.
How do you combine cash, credits, and card payments in one cashless platform?
With a hybrid setup. Visitors pay at the bar with a bank card or smartphone, with a cash card topped up at a central cash point, or with a QR voucher. Every sale ends up in the same platform, providing a single overview for the organizer and partners.
